The European Commission’s 2021 Strategic Foresight Report presents a multidisciplinary, forward-looking approach that brings together different perspectives on Europe’s capacity and freedom to act in the coming years. The report is based on an expert-led cross-sectoral foresight process, i.e. a forward-looking process.
Therefore, the 2021 Strategic Foresight Report assesses global trends and aims to address possible uncertainties and decisions that will shape Europe’s future. Thereport builds on the Commission’s 2020 Strategic Foresight Report, which introduced resilience as a new priority in EU policymaking for the first time. It analyses four global trends and their potential to influence the future of the continent.
