Developing digital skills in TVET teacher training: trends (UNEVOC – UNESCO)

The purpose of this study is to map trends and challenges in the training of VET teachers and trainers in the context of digitalisation and to identify examples of innovative efforts in VET teacher training that have proved successful.

In order to better understand the latest trends in the development of digital skills in TVET teacher training, this study looks at its status both before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. It examines how countries have responded to the need to move to a distance learning environment. It also looks at how countries have encouraged VET teachers and trainers to develop the skills and competences needed to use digital tools, services and technologies to ensure learner-centred quality education and training, in particular practical learning, which is a feature of quality TVET provision.
