Digital skills are increasingly important than ever, due to the digital revolution we are experiencing in the labour market, but also to the faster needs brought about by COVID-19 lockdowns. Efforts have been made to contribute to the development and assessment of digital skills. However, despite these efforts, many people still face difficulties in developing an adequate level of digital skills. This section looks at why digital skills are relevant in the 21st century and what it means. It then describes how we can develop, shape and measure digital skills. Finally, the implications of training and measuring digital skills will be presented.
