This report covers developments in ESCO during 2020 and the work done by the Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion at the European Commission to ensure the continuous improvement of the classification as well as to support its uptake in the labour market and in the world of education and training by a wide community of stakeholders.
The report introduces examples of the implementation of ESCO in Europe and beyond and informs about communication activities carried out in the last year. Moreover, the report highlights the process undertaken to deliver ESCO’s next major version (v1.1, foreseen for the end of 2021), including the use of artificial intelligence to maintain the classification.
