European Blockchain Services Infrastructure

The European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI) is a joint pan-European initiative of the European Commission, all EU Member States, Norway and Liechtenstein to use blockchain power for the public good.

EBSI
EBSI is the first publicly-led blockchain initiative, working on blockchain to offer better public services to citizens across Europe. This includes the creation of cross-border services for public administration, businesses, citizens from all EU Member States as well as Norway and Liechtenstein. EBSI is composed of three main technical services: APIs, smart contracts and register. They are fully decentralised in a network of nodes across Europe.

What can you do with EBSI?
For businesses interested in improving their processes through the use of blockchain technology, EBSI has developed frameworks to address problems grouped in thematic areas called “Use of Case Families”. These ‘families’ include: Verifiable credentials (e.g.: traceability of documents or diplomas), Track & Trace and reliable data exchange. Another use of the EBSI ecosystem is a digital wallet that allows you to access, store and share your information across Europe.
