More than 25 years of European support for research activities highlight Marie Skłodowska-Curie activities and explain why the actions have been created and who can benefit from them and their impact on the wider scientific community. TheMarie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) provided grants for the training of researchers with exceptional activities at all stages of their career, while promoting transnational, cross-sectoral and interdisciplinary movements. The programme was appointed after two Nobel Peace Prize laureates, Marie Skłodowska-Curie, to honour and disseminate the values he defended. So far, more than 145000 researchers have benefited from these programmes, including 12 Nobel Prize laureates and Oscar laureates.
Building on the success of the programme over the past 20 years, the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions will continue to fund the next generation of excellent early-stage researchers under Horizon Europe, the new European research and innovation programme for 2021-2027. The budget for Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions is EUR 6.6 billion.
